Frankly, the Ba gua and pa-kua is one and the same. Where " pa-kua " is
commonly `spelt' or pronounced this way by the Hokkiens (a dialect group of
the Chinese) while the Ba gua is considered the romanised word in Mandarin.
Not to confuse anyone, when we say ba gua mirror, this refers to the First
Heaven Sequence Trigram mirror commonly used to be hang above doors of homes
in the Far East i.e. Malaysia, Singapore etc....
Therefore, by definition, ba gua = pa-kua. (minus the mirror)
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

>Dear Cecil,
>I'm confused about ba gua and pa-kua. I understand a bit about the ba gua.
When I saw the term "pa-kua" I thought it was a different phonetic spelling
of ba gua, but now I realize they're different things.
>Can you please explain pa kua, or advise me where I can find out more?
None of the books I have read say much about it.
>Thank you for your help.
