Dear Patti,

1. Before coming to your question, for those who are new to Chinese customs, can find that during the wedding, for some Chinese, it is a custom to get a `handsome' baby boy to roll on the wedding bed several times.

In the hope that the couple becomes fertile and give birth to a MALE child.

2. It is thus a taboo to allow a baby GIRL to roll on the bed! Wait.. u mean even if it is such a beautiful FEMALE child... Unfortunately, yes.

3. From my personal experience, what you mentioned dwell more on beliefs than Feng Shui.

4. Due to our present lifestyle and even (I believe) the food that we eat etc... fertility has more to do with us then on Feng Shui.

5. In some documentaries or articles, the blame is also e.g. on the clothing that men wear. The tighter it is, it may lead to poorer `productivity'.

6. Thus, in my opinion, with advances in science, and as many of us marry at an older age... it is better to trust science such as intro-fertilisation etc... than on `luck'.

7. Furthermore, all that shifting of the bed ... could it further weaken both parties. I mean... with both parties using hard labour just to shift the bed.. may cause more harm .. *JOKE*

8. I have in my opinion seen quite alot of cases to say that relying on Feng Shui for conception.. is like betting in a lottery...

9. Thus, I personally belief that we should use the best `methods' that can produce effective results rather than placing `hope' and perhaps having a slim chance to conceive. Time is ticking... against us... in such a situation.

Warmest Regards,
Cecil
