Dear Anon,
1. Some `Western Traditional' School of Feng Shui particularly those who practise Flying Star Theory have concern about the rotation of a metallic fan.
To them, it circulates metal and their concern is that if a sector is out of balance and if metal is the catalyst, this is a `concern'.
2. In my opinion, looking at the commonsense approach to Feng Shui:
Nowadays, many fans no longer have metal blades. And even if the blades are metallic does not mean that it generates `metal'.
In view of the above, I personally feel that there should not be any cause for concern over the use of fans.
I believe that they are a cheap and economical method of cooling a house. Thus providing comfort to a home.
If one were to bring in the argument of air-conditioner, it does have rotary blades even if it is usually plastic and the cooling element is metallic. So, there will always be `arguments' as to its effects.
For the fan no one has proven conclusively that it is either good, bad or is neutral.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
