Dear Anon,
1. Essentially, Qi force cannot be examined with the naked eye. So far, no one could really map out or see the flow of `Sha' Qi from a slopping ceiling.
It is not like a wind tunnel experiment etc...
2. I have ever come across, some innovative people in Hong Kong, who had created a Qi `detector '. Frankly, I have never tried it so cannot comment further.
If anyone has come across it and tried it, do let us know.
3. One logic of having a screen or false ceiling is that it essentially distributes the `weight' or `force' (if I can call Sha Qi as a `force').
Similarly, perhaps it could work with water as in a fish tank because water is level and essentially, Qi may be evenly `distributed' over that small area.
4. I like to apply the 33.3percent ruleset that if the fish tank is small, it may not (assuming that it worked) be enough. Perhaps a larger pool of water is needed?
But here, a large pool of water is not a good idea. Especially inside the house and particularly if it is at the centre of the house. It will drown the house and create difficulties.
5. I leave it to you to think of what I mentioned above.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
