Posted by: An____ L.

Hi all - quick question: anyone know of a good (thorough) book on Zi Wei Dou Shu?

Specifically I'm trying to find a good source that contain explanations/descriptions of ALL stars used in this system. The few books that I have found focus only on the main 14 stars - I'm hoping to find something that will go into detail explanations of the 100+ stars actually used.

Hopefully there's a good English book out there that does this, if not, is there a Chinese one that does?

Thanks and have a great week everyone!

hi. i have just purchased the encyclopedia FS 2000 and i was wondering if i can access this ebook offline. i did save the file but unfortunately i don't have a winzip.program to unpack my file. i use the portable fs2000 program to access. there are so many interesting topics for me to catch up and that would probably jack up my internet time usage. plse advise if there is any other way i can read them offline without all that "usage cost".
Any body interested in chinese symbolism should try the book called "Feng Shui Dos & Taboos by author Angi Ma Wong. The best thing I liked about this book was that author has published a disclaimer on the first page of the book saying that all recommendations are made without guarantee on the part of the author. Basically author is merely presenting the information without any claims like other BTB authors who guarantee solution for every problem and pray on emotions of innocent public.

I remember a user posted a message regarding vast u. Well I came across a book called Vastu
Living Creating A Home for the Soul by author Kathleen Cox. After reading the book I was surprised to notice lot of similarities between vastu and feng shui. Vastu Indian science of architecture and is also based on cardinal direction and also emphasis the nature and 5 different elements(air, water, fire, wood, earth). But there is heavy emphasis of symbolism (deity). Well, anybody looking for more information on vastu should try this book. Good luck!

Book On Chinese Numbers

1. On member was asking on a book on choosing names.

2. Dr. Evelyn Lip had written a book approximately 110 pages.

3. One intersting topic is choosing names according to the number of strokes in each character besides other significance, symbolism and traditions in Chinese numbers.

4. In my opinion, the book is a simple introduction to Chinese numbers. And if you can find it in your local library, it is certainly worth borrowing it especially, if one wants to do a `research' into this area.

(I think it should cost around US$10.00 or less.)
all the Lin and Too books I bought.
There are too many contradictions there.
So far I like this Forum's books (I bought
them and use them)and the
above. I'm open to any suggestions
of other "classic FS" texts. Thank you.

Book On Landscape FS & Water Dragon Classic.

Posted by: Fr____ C.
Part I:
Hi Cecil/Robert/(?Anyone),
Do you know a good book that deals with landscaping your garden to maximise the beneficial effects of Feng Shui?

I also wanted to have a look at a book that discusses the water dragon classic in detail, not just a page or so, like all the texts I've seen do.

Part II:

I have a 25m x 45m block which my house is on, and the block slopes backwards instead of forwards (for beneficial chi). I'm looking for ways to fix this (obviously, long term,
I'll want to move).

Thanks.

Any body interested in a very good book on feng shui should try Applied Feng Shui Made Easy by Cecil Lee. Its very informative and simply written. The book not only describes
cures but also explains do's and don'ts of certain cures. On top of that the readers have a added advantage of contacting the author personally and discussing their doubts
and questions.

Western Guide To Feng Shui

Posted by: We____ G.
Dear Robert

Congratulations on a fabulous website.

I am (another) beginner in Feng Shui.

My reasons for learning about Feng Shui is that my husband and I are planning to commence build a house early in 2000.

My introduction to Feng Shui was the Western Guide to Feng Shui - which initially excited me, but then worried me because I became sceptical about simply using the location of your front door to map the rest of your home.

Then I purchased Lillian Too's illustrated guide to Feng Shui (may not be correct title as I do not have it with me). This book, while a little more daunting, seemed more authentic. However, since visiting your site, I have begun to have doubts about this book (ie comments about "static", "applied Feng Shui" etc)

I would welcome your advice.

Also, could you advise whether the year 2000 is a good time to be building a new home.

Thank you.

Posted by: St____ R.
Hi there,

I would like to study FS and read books and articles on the FS websites.
Almost all what I found is very descriptive (what is a good or bad FS) but my search for the whys and wherefores is pretty much unfulfilled. Which are the books, which really go in depth?
Also, I want to find books, which teach you how the use the FS compass and its 30 tiers.
Thank you for your help
