Article :: Calendar System For Gua Calculations

Posted by: Ro____ L.
1. In the Gua Calculation, what calendar system to use?

Before you even start to calculate the Gua Number, you should have already converted your YEAR of birth to the Chinese Lunar Calendar. All concepts on this website all bases it's calculation in relation to the Chinese Calendar system (and is done automatically for you when you use our online calculators).

In Feng Shui there are two calendar system the Chinese Lunar Calendar System and the Xia Calendar System (or more accurately the Seasonal Calendar). Where the Xia Calendar is always closely related and can be deduced from the Lunar Calendar.

In fact all Feng Shui theories so far are related to the Lunar Calendar. Those theories which requires Seasonal influence will require Xia Calendar system.

The Chinese has all along been using the Chinese Lunar and Xia Calendar System.

Thus, all Chinese related Feng Shui must use the Chinese Calendar for any calculations. This goes the same even for the Chinese Astrology or Horoscope. You use the Chinese Calendar as your Date of Birth and not the Western date of birth.

2. Is Chinese Feng Shui concepts like I-Ching, Ba Zi, Flying Star, Eight House, Name analysis considered Numerology?

Yes. Frankly, I must say the Chinese has long developed a simple yet effective Calculation. Take the Chinese Calculator (abacus) for example. It is so simple yet, powerful. If you know how to use the abacus for calculation, you can calcuate the most complex mathematics without even a modern calculator. And best of all you can do it all Mentally.

I-Ching's concept of 2 (binary) which is now is used in present day Computer as in Binary provides the basic for Computer computation.

Chinese Name Analysis is another direct example of the clever use of Numerology to express the Name in relation to the Five Element.

Flying Star Analysis is another example of Numerology to relate to the Five Element.

Eight House Gua Number is again another Numerology related concept so as to match the number to one of the Eight Trigrams which also relates to the Element of the Trigram.

Ba Zi is the 2nd most complex Numerology compared to the I-Ching. But again it is related to the Number concept.

Shapes and Form's Tortise concept where in that special arrangement whether you add the number horizontally, vertically etc, you will get a total of 15.

So I must say that all Feng Shui concept in one way or another is based on Numerology.

3. So does it mean that if anyone can use Modern mathematics formula to calculate any one of the above theories, that Chinese Feng Shui Theory is thus considered a Western Numerology?

Mathematics can be used by anyone to find a logical pattern or a formula to derive a common repeating pattern.

Frankly, in the past, there wasn't such comprehensive Mathematic forumla. In fact, all the Feng Shui practitioner uses is the Bagua. The Bagua is arranged in such a unique way that, you do not need to do any calcuations, but rather by rotating the rings in the correct order and all the necessary information such as I-Ching, Flying Star, Eight House, Ba Zi, Heaven-Earth-Human luck and lots more are revealed by looking at the inter-relationship of the various rings on the bagua compass.

So in the past, there wasn't any such so call formula that existed. So why are there now such calculation methods appearing?

As mentioned, if you are good in Mathematics, you will be able to deduce a logical formula out of a series of repeating patterns. Thus, coming out with the Formula. Having such formulas help in performing quick mental calculations without referring to the Bagua.

So does this means that because of such an alternative formula solution, that the Ba Zi, Flying Star, Xuan Kong are now considered "WESTERN NUMEROLOGY"?

Sorry, the West is not the only one who has Numerology, the Chinese also have their own Chinese Numerology. And it is widely seen in all the various Feng Shui concepts available.

I am sad to say, those who DO NOT understand how Feng Shui works and/or how each theories are related to each other, or how each calendar system is treated in Feng Shui. They will probably question it.

4. This website, has from day one when the website is published on the Internet in 1995/6 been putting up concepts which has been easy to use and even came up with various computerised versions of the concepts all to allow anyone to apply Feng Shui easily.

5. Why has our website been able to so effectively apply Feng Shui concepts to the real world?

Simply because we do not just apply one theory only. (ie like only the flying star house analysis). We apply a combination of concepts so as to be able to get the most comprehensive analysis on any particular situations.

However, I am sad to say that there are many who practises Feng Shui around with world who practise only one form of theories only. And/or there are people who condemns one form of theory saying that it isn't true classic feng shui.

Frankly, practising Feng Shui using only certain concept is bad and dangerous. This is because each concept has a specific use. Not knowing the results of another theory will not result in being able to provide a comprehensive understanding of any situation. Thus, not being able to find the faults so as to be able to correct the problem and improve the luck.

Article :: Eight Aspiration Vs Eight House

Posted by: Ro____ L.
Eight Aspiration is based on the Bagua static layout of the Eight Trigram. This is thus a static model which does not personalise to a single person.

Eight House / Eight Trigram is the very basic concept which expands upon the Bagua, that tries to personalise a person into the calculation.

Given that there are Eight Directions and each direction is often related to a compass direction. It was thus derived to be called the Compass School.

This theory uses numerology to try to fit a person based on his Year of Birth which will thus arrange the Eight Trigram in such a way that you can see 4 good and 4 bad direction.

The Eight Trigam is a basic foundation for the Advanced Compass School called the Flying Star (Xuan Kong Feng Shui). As it further divides the each of the direction into 3 sub-sectors. Thus, the 8 directions later becomes 24 mountain directions.

It also provides the basic foundation of how the initial Flying Star formation is layout. And thus a way for the Flying Star to fly in a unique formation.

This Same Eight Trigam when arranged in different way produces different types of Bagua formation.

So fundamentally, it is a very simplified form of this very easy to apply Eight House Theory.

However, despite it's ease of use and very simplified model, it is still very useful in determining how suitable a direction is to a person. But it is less accurate then a later concept called the Ba Zi Feng Shui 24 directions.

Weakness of this Theory

This theory only bases on the Year of Birth so it's accurately is limited. But it is good enough to allow it to be used as a general 4 good and 4 bad directions. Thus, determining a portion of the suitability of the Earth Luck to a person.

Article :: Eight House, Flying Star & Ba Zi FS

Posted by: Ro____ L.
Eight House (Ba Zhai Yun) and Flying Star (Xuan Kong Feng Shui) are two of the compass schools.

The compass school is one of the two major component for evaluation a home.

In order to effectively evaluate your Home Luck you need to refer to:-

1. Shapes and Forms

The surrounding of the building and the surrounding of the interior

2. Compass Schools

2a. Eight House / Eight Trigram is used as a way to personalise a person based solely on the Year of Birth to the environment. Thus, it's sole purpose if any is to provide you with some understanding as to which of the 4 directions are favourable for you and which are unfavourable for you. Thus, we have Eight Directions just as in the compass direction.

Each of the Trigram direction is related to the Flying Star 3 sector sub-division of the Trigram. There is a total of 8 Trigram while Flying Star has 24 direction or 24 mountain direction.

2b. Flying Star (Xuan Kong) is used as a way to calculate the Earth luck influences and changes through the movement of the Water and Mountain Star. This allows a practitioner who cannot feel or see the Qi properly, to use such tools to calculate exactly how the influence shifts at any one time.

Thus, this theory can calculate the movement for every 20-year, yearly, monthly, daily and even every chinese hour. And hence was called the Time Dimension School. As it is the only theory capable of such a task.

This theory expands upon the weakness of the Eight House by allowing each 24 different sectors to more accurate determine the influence of the house. This 24 mountain is derived from the Eight House direction.

3. Ba Zi Feng Shui

There is also another school which is called the Ba Zi Feng shui. This uses your Ba Zi to accurately determine the date and time of birth, and then allowing you to relate your environment with the same 24 mountain as the Flying Star. Thus, it is often used together with the Flying Star, and thus called Ba Zi Feng Shui.

Ba Zi Feng Shui allows a person to personalised his or her heavenly luck to the earth luck. Thus allowing you not only to see how the house luck is but also whether or not how suitable is the house to you.

It also so happens that it is based on 24 direction thus you can more accurately use the combinations and clashes to determine which of the 24 different directions.

4. Each theory has its uses and weakness

4a. Eight House is for suitable direction (at least it is much better than using the static Eight Aspiration which is fixed for all person).

However, despite it's simplicity, just 8 different variations, allows a person to tell whether a house generally suit them or not.

From our many years of experience, those who often have a house based on their death or disaster, often faces problems. So it is a quick yet effective solution for determining such influence.

4b. Flying Star is suitable for charting out the Birth chart of a Home. Just like how Ba Zi chart out your own Birth Chart. This gives you a feel of how your house luck is at any particular time.

NOTE: A house with excellent Xuan Kong Feng Shui does not necessary mean it will be suitable to you. Thus, a house which is good for one person may not benefit another if he does not suit the house.

4c. Ba Zi Feng Shui is the way to personalised the environment to your Heaven Luck. Understanding things like what colours are good or bad for you, will allow you to choose the colour scheme of the your Home decoration so as to improve your Earth Luck.

............................................................

So each theory has it's uses and limitations.

Feng Shui is not Mircle cure, but rather to improve the overall luck of a person and his environment so that he or she will be able to feel comfortable in his environment.

So the way to attain success with Feng Shui is:-

1. Identify all major Feng Shui leaks in your life or home. Fix whatever you can to minimise the impact.

2. Improve luck in all areas so boost up your overall Heaven Luck, Earth Luck and Human Luck.

3. Work hard to meet your goals (ie don't just depend on Feng Shui, but you have to work in order to be able to reap the rewards)

Article :: Suitable House With Eight House Theory

Posted by: Ro____ L.
A house must be suitable to the breadwinner of the family (the one earning most for the family).

ie. Say if the Main Door of the house is East, and East for the Breadwinner is Excellent, then this house is suitable for the breadwinner. Thus, you will be able to gain a significant earth luck from staying in a suitable house.

ie. Say if the Main Door of the house is East, and East for the Breadwinner is Death, then this house is most unsuitable for the breadwinner. If you continue to stay in the house, you will face lots of problems in your career etc.

Use the Free Eight House Report to determine your Eight House:-

Article :: Detecting Common Leaks In A Home

Posted by: Ro____ L.
1. The most common leak in a home is the toilet locating close to the center influence of the home.

2. If the toilet is located on top or beside of the main entrance of the home.

3. When there is a straight path where the Qi will enter from the main door and exit directly out of the house.

URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-breath.htm

4. Missing Corners in the Homes (ie not a full square house)

URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-building.htm

When looking for a house, you should always try to avoid a house with any of the above 4 common leaks.

With such leaks in the home, often your earth luck will be tremendously reduced.

Article :: Earth Luck Superceed Heaven Luck

Posted by: Ro____ L.
No matter how good your heaven luck maybe, if you stay in a inauspicious house, you will be greatly influenced by the house.

ie. a person who has excellent Feng Shui during the age of 30-50. But during his time, he moved into a new home. However, when checked with the Flying Star (Xuan Kong) Feng Shui, the house shows of a one with extremely bad feng shui.

Thus, this person will not enjoy his favourable luck as defined in his Heaven Luck, but rather he will encounter series of problems such as Illness, Career problems etc.

ie. a person who is not enjoying a good feng shui during the age of 30-50. But during this period, he is staying in an house with very good wealth collection. He will be able to compensate his inauspicious wealth from the Luck of the House. Thus, he will do much better than in the 1st example.

Thus, choosing a good house is always very important.

It is always important to note that for a house, besides having a good Xuan Kong Feng Shui and external shapes and form influence. A house should also be a suitable house to the person based on his Eight House directions (ie. Excellent direction for main door).

It is no point for a person to stay in a very good feng shui house but the house does not suit that person. He will not be able to maximise his luck collection with such a combination.

Posted by: Ro____ L.
Never buy a house with a toilet located at the center influence of the home.
The center of the house is where all the flux of energy comes together. And if the toilet is located at the center of the home. Your wealth will leak out of the home.

This will result in the family facing financial difficulties.
